And so, it begins…

Winter, that is.

Last evening, we had rain that turned to snow after midnight. The result, of course, it a bit of an icy mess.

Which answers my second winter question (“Snow for Thanksgiving?”) with a definite yes. Albeit not a lovely soft snow like we sometimes see. No, winter came at us this year like a young lion. What that means for the rest of the winter remains to be seen.

As you see, I’ve already been out to do the first snow-shoveling of the season. Dug out the trusty (slightly rusty) shovels. One a big-bladed “snowplow” shovel for moving snow around, the other with a crooked handle designed for lifting and throwing.

Which is a bit of a shock-to-the-system change from:

Just a month ago.

But the seasonal changes are part of the fun. The best part about winter is that spring follows it.

And I confess: I do get a small bit of pleasure from being the first one in our little condo neighborhood to have a clean driveway.

And it gets me outside, which is nice, even when there’s a brisk wind and it’s only 28° anyway (ooh, wind-chill). That’s -2.2 for any Centigrade fans.

Gotta get acclimated. This is just the beginning!

That’s all for this time. Just wanted to commemorate the beginning of winter.

Stay warm, my friends! Go forth and spread beauty and light.
